I’m not sure why, but the news of Anna Nicole Smith’s death at such a young age had more of an emotional effect on me than I would have thought. Maybe it’s because we’re approximately the same age. As your contemporaries start passing away, I think your own mortality becomes a lot more real, even when it’s a peer you didn’t really know personally.
I was a big fan of hers though. I thought her reality show was funny, and I was always impressed with how she could pull off being a supermodel type without being a size 0. (I’ve never been a fan of super skinny women anyway.) Her appearances on the Howard Stern Show always made me laugh too.
At any rate, she died too young, and I am sad that she did.
